FALL 2019

ISSUE V

From the Director, Susan Stickel:
I want to take this opportunity to give everyone an update on the new project at the library. As you may know, work began on “The Reading Garden” just weeks ago. The pavilion, gazebo, and walking paths are now complete, but there is still much work to be done. A Serenity Garden and a Butterfly Garden have been approved, and fall planting should begin soon. This is a work in progress, and other features are planned.
Plans are underway for an open house in the spring. Watch for details on our website and in our winter newsletter about the grand opening.

MEET OUR STAFF
This month we would like you to meet Connie Irvin. Connie is a lifelong resident of Benton. She is married to Danny, has 3 children and 6
grandchildren. In fact, her hobby is traveling to Florida to see her granddaughters. Connie has worked at the library for 5 years and says she
has loved every minute of it! Something that Connie feels no one knows about her is that she doesn’t like frogs! At the library, something funny is always happening. One of Connie’s funny experiences is picking up a co-worker that fell out of her chair—not once but 5 times. (You
know who you are!) Connie is an asset to the library. She is in charge of the program that handles the books or bricks that are donated in memory, or in honor, of others.
