Board of Trustees Meeting
April 12, 2021
The April 12, 2021 meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 5:30pm by President Sue Wells.
Members Present: Debbie Clark, Stephanie Hart, Doris Heaton, Pat Hollada, Chris Jerrells, Kathy Storey, and Sue Wells
Also Present: Susan Stickel, Library Director
Debbie Clark presented a power point program she had written regarding the formation of the Reading Garden and as a tribute to Doris Heaton for her last meeting on the Board of Directors. Refreshments were served and a gift presented from the staff of the library.
A motion was made by Stephanie Hart to approve the minutes of the March 8, 2021 and special meeting of 3-15-21 passsed.
Motion by Stephanie Hart to approve the payment of bills passed.
Motion by Stephanie Hart to accept the financial report as presented passed.
A committee of Benton citizens is raising money for a statue of Mr A (Gene Alexander) to be placed on the Benton square. Mr. A has long been a generous contributor to the ibrary providing many books for the Children’s Area as well as other causes to assist the libray. Motion by Debbie Clark to donate $1000 to the Mr. A fund for the building of the statue passed unanimously on roll call vote.
A pink dogwood plant has beeen donated to the Reading Garden and will be planted by Plantscape Nursery
Zeb Leffler has announced his resignation to continue his education.
The 2021 Benton Public Library Policy Manual was approved on a motion by Stephanie Hart.
Motion by Doris Heaton to adjourn at 6:23 pm passsed.
