  • We do not have an estimate to patch the roof on the building next door. Susan has contacted B2N in West Frankfort
  • Kathy got a matching rate on our CD at State Bank of Whittington
  • Susan is going to have the dumpster picked up that is next door on the property
  • We have another 1,000 Book Club Reader. She has requested a baby blue bookcase
  • A donor is paying for the cost of the plaque for the pavilion in the Reading Garden
  • Kimberly spoke about having a Friday Night Family movie night. She stated it would be on Friday night every other month so as not to conflict with the First Christian Church movie night. She also wants to do a BINGO night once a month and possibly a Spice Club night.
  • Susan mentioned Tech Night with Joe would be coming back. He would be helping with tech questions
  • Pam Teague spoke about the genealogy class the last Wednesday of every month from 12-8 pm. This would offer help, beginning classes, etc.

The vote passed unanimously

  • Reading Garden Event

We might possibly try to plan something for May or June when the weather is noce. We will have to coordinate around other events going on at the same time. We need to be thinking of ideas for the event.

Other

  • Brian told the board he had contacted Michael McGuire about getting a name of a contractor to give us advice and other helpful information about future plans for the lot next door. He gave the name of Ryan Dodd. His contact information was given to Susan.
  • Michael mentioned that contractor estimates at the current time are highly inflated and it is not a good time to be doing any type of construction due to high prices and supply chain issues.
  • Sue stated that whe would contact Ryan about getting with us.

Public Comment

  • Pam Teague brought up the idea of switching the computer lab room (Kim’s) with hers because there is more space in there. This would be a temporary fix for space because of the uncertainty of what might happen with the property next door. We said that we would look at the space and figure something out with this plan.
