  • Watler Accounting, CPR,P.C. presented information to us from the audit
  • The audit is complete. They noted that an audit is no longer required until every three years. It will not be required for us until 2023 (maybe?) They might just have to look at it to make year-end adjustments. This will save us money.
  • Janet mentioned that everything is in good order.
  • She went overt the individual funds, the collateral (which we are in a good position), the bond payment schedule, etc.
  • She stated that everything is in good shape and the books look great.

Librarian’s Report:

  • Susan passed out an updated phone list that was worked on by Kim.
  • Programming: the tiny art show works are on display until March 14th. 131 were passed out and 67 have been returned. Brian is going to contact someone at Channel 3to see if they want to do a news article on this.
  • Lloyd electric has been here to work onn lighting and future lighting. The front of the car lot and building has been lit up.
  • The fence around the pirate ship has been put up.
  • We might be trying to sell possible items from the car building next door.
  • A red maple has been planted to replace the pine tree. It is in honor of Mr. A.
  • The governor may be lifting the indoor mask mandate on February 28th (?) We are going to wait to see if this happens. If so, we discussed going back to masks optional for inside the library. We will continue to test employees at least until the 28th.
  • Matt Wynn may be doing a future boook signing at the library.
  • Shannon Hess hhas decided not to join us at the library, bu Janice and Whitney have stresssed interest in gaining more hours to possibly replace what Shannon might have been working.
  • Pam Teague brought up the topic of the genealogy room. Someone needs to be present there at all times due to books being damaged/or stolen.
  • We discussed making Pam a full time employee to cover more of the missing time from the room. Whitney could also work on covering after-hours when Pam is not there. Susan is going to get with Pam to work at a salary/schedule.

Pat made a motion for Pam  to become a full-time employee and have a library attendant in there when Pam is not at the library. Susan will also work with Pam about hours and salary.

Old Business:

Personnel:

Shannon Hess will not be joining us at the library.

Janice and Whitney might be filling in for some of those hours that Shannon might have beeen working.

New Business

  • Statements of Economic Interest were passed out and signed and returned to Susan
  • THere is a patron at the library who has been coming in and looking up inappropriate material on the computer. The patron is currently on the sex offender list. We have talked with the lawyer about what to do. He is definitely banned from using the computer, but we are still going too find out if we can bar him from the library. We are going to discuss the lawyer about what can be done. The Benton and West City Police are working on this with us.

Other

  • Brian mentioned that Sara Handlin did a great job representing us at the Mr A memorial on January 30th.
