Librarian’s Report:

  • We got a quote from Lazerware about E-rate (Category 1 and Category 2). We have funds available to us from Category 1 and Category 2 for upgrading. They would reimburse us for 85% of the total money spent and we would only be responsible for 15%. The estimate was for $3,400.00 and we would only pay $518. This would be for all updates listed as quoted on the form that Debbie Clark read to the board. We all agreed this should be done.

  • We have some lights out in the canopy and the monument sign. Susan has contacted FW Electric about this.
  • Kim and Susan would like to be notaries. We all agreed they should be.
  • We received a thank you card from Barb about the gift card for Christmas.
  • Susan brought up the possible moving of rooms in the library if it will work (Kim, computers, genealogy, Young Adult section, etc). We are waiting on a quote to see how much the wiring would cost to do this.
  • Pam has asked if she can get a couple of mannequins to use for military uniforms. We have put this on hold until we decide what we are going to do. She might be able to get some donations from possible stores that might be closing.
  • Leslie Cox brought an advertisement to promote the BCHS Performing Arts event at the Civic Center on Saturday, February 25th at 6 pm. We agreed we should donate $300 for a table of 8 and it is for any board member/staff member that would like to go and sit at the table.

Old Business:

  • Diane is sick. We are waiting to find out more from her. She has not been able to work.
  • Whitney Muir has left to go work full-time at Auto Credit.
  • Susan had two suggestions for new hires (Dale Houseworth and Dee Harp). We all agreed they should be great additions to the library.
  • All board members and staff members will need to read over the required sexual harassment training policy and sign off on it.
  • Joe is back working 10 hours a month at the library with tech support (two Wednesdays and a Sunday). We decided to bring his pay up to $15.00/hour since he had worked ten years with us before.

1st by Brian Crisp                                              2nd by Debbie Clark

  • 512 South Main Street Property

(The roof has been patched by B2N. The cost was $750.00)

  • Security Alarm has worked on the cameras
  • A lightening strike took out some of the lights in the pavilion and FW Electric is working on it and a new surge protector
  • Reading Garden Event – We have decided to call it a dedication instead of a grand opening. The date we are currently looking at is Saturday, June 3rd. We discussed refreshments (cupcakes), punch/lemonade/water, and the times from 1-4 pm.
