BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
AUGUST 12, 2019
5:30 PM
Vice President Chris Jerrels called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Members Present: Debbie Clark, Doris Heaton, Pat Hollada, Chris Jerrells, Kathy Story, and Sue Wells
Members Absent: Stephanie Hart
Also Present: Henry Stickel and Director Susan Stickel
Motion by Doris Heaton, seconded by Chris Jerrells to approve the July Budget Hearing Minutes and the Regular Board Meeting minutes passed. All were in favor.
Motion by Doris Heaton, seconded by Chris Jerrells to approve the payment of bills and financial reports passed. All were in favor.
Librarian’s Report:
Maintenance:
The tree stump in the Reading Garden has been removed from the ground in preparation of the building of the pavilion.
Programming:
Susan distributed the August Calendar of Events.
Memorials and Donations:
Susan reported on three monetary donations that were recently received earmarked for the Reading Garden.
The annual audit of the library is set for August 28th.
Old Business:
Susan discussed staffing needs briefly as an employee has given notice on retirement.
Mr. McGuire is requesting information regarding plaques in the Reading Garden. This has been tabled.
New Business:
Susan is preparing the IPLAR.
Other Business:
Debbie Clark motioned, Pat Hollada seconded to approve the quote from Security Alarm in the amount of $7,950.00. All were in favor. Susan will sign the agreement.
Chris Jerrells reported he has reached out to the local Boy Scouts and the Benton High School History Department on the possibility of completing service projects at the library, specifically the Reading Garden. The idea was well received.
Motion by Kathy Storey, seconded by Sue Wells to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 pm.
