Board of Trustees Meeting
November 9th, 2020
5:30 pm.
Minutes
President Sue Wells called the meeting to order at 5:27 pm.
Members Present: Debbie Clark, Doris Heaton, Pat Hollada, Chris Jerrells, Kahy Storey, and Sue Wells.
Members absent: Stephanie Hart
Also Present: Director Susan Stickel
Motion by Doris Heaton, seconded by Kathy Storey to approve the minutes passed. All were in favor.
Motion by Debbie Clark, seconded by Doris Heaton to approve the payment of bills passed. All were in favor.
Motion by Kathy Storey, seconded by Doris Heaton to approve the financial reports passed. All were in favor.
Librarian’s Report:
Maintenance:
The furnaces will be inspected, cleaned, and filters replaced this week by F. W. Electric.
Mats for high traffic areas have been ordered from Heartland Office Supply. Susan was asked to check on carpet replacement for the circulation desk area.
The clock has been repaired and delivered to the library.
Programming:
In person programming remains suspended but plans are to present some online programming for children. Plans are being made to do a six week Christmas drawing for children that will replace our annual Christmas with Santa this year.
The quarterly newsletter was distributed to board members.
Memorials and Donations:
Memorials and donations for the past month were reported.
Susan spoke with an individual this past week who inquired about placing a “Blessing Box” on the library property. The board unanimously agreed to allow. Susan will make the arrangements.
Old Business:
Signage for the garden is ready to be picked up this week from All Stars & Stitches.
We will soon decorate the Garden for the Christmas season.
New Business:
Motion by Doris Heaton, seconded by Debbie Clark to approve Ordinance #103-20 – Ordinance abating the tax levied for the year 2020 to pay the principle and interest on the General Obligation Bonds Series 2014, of the Benton Public Library District passed. All were in favor.
There being no further business and no public present for comment, Chris Jerrells motioned, Kathy Storey seconded to adjourn at 5:53 pm.
